Return to Work
The health benefits of work are well documented. Our goal is for workers to remain at work, where possible, and rehabilitate from injury in a safe and durable manner.
If they do require time off work, evidence shows that early intervention and early return to work helps with better outcomes. However proper assessment and identification of duties appropriate for the worker is important.
Axis provides return to work programs which may involve initial needs assessments, workplace assessments, suitable duties development and monitoring. Our Physiotherapists and Psychologists are also accredited to provide these services for WorkCover QLD.
Our approach is that each injured worker who is participating in occupational rehabilitation services is treated respectfully and according to their unique background, condition and occupation.
Axis can provide an initial worksite or workstation assessments (WSA) or an initial needs assessment (INA) to assess the stage of recovery the worker is at, to analyse the work tasks, the work environment and determine capability of the employee to perform his/ her work. Development of suitable duties and monitoring of appropriate work tasks and hours with high touch communication with all stakeholders follows.
At Axis we value the “Stay at work’ to recover approach. This means, when applicable, remaining at work to keep the worker connected, contribute to productivity and prevent physical and/or psychological deconditioning. Providing appropriate and early intervention is key to this model. In consultation with the workplace, Axis can assist with strategies to enable this approach such as reporting systems, early access to care, and supporting short term modifications to work duties. This has been shown to reduce the incidence of claims and improve a worker’s health and well being.
Workplace assessments and evaluations to save you time, money and reduce the risk of injury. For physical or psychological injury or illness, Axis can undertake individual assessments to facilitate recovery, return to work and getting back on track.
