Assessments & Evaluations

Staying safe and healthy at work.

Workplace assessments and evaluations to save you time, money and reduce the risk of injury. For physical or psychological injury or illness, Axis can undertake individual assessments to facilitate recovery, return to work and getting back on track.

Worksite Assessments

A worksite assessment is a workplace assessment undertaken by an Axis Health Professional to determine what modifications, equipment or work practices are needed to ensure a workers health and safety at work. It can be part of a return to work program or as an injury prevention strategy. Key facilitators and barriers are addressed, strategies and goals discussed, and our high touch approach means there is high engagement with all stakeholders.

Ergonomic Workstation Assessment

A workstation assessment (for office based workers) is used for workers returning to work after injury or illness or a worker having difficulty at work due to a work related or non-work related injury or illness. The assessment considers the workers individual requirements, the workplace environment and the needs of the organisation.

Workstation screenings are quick checks for groups of workers following a change in office environment, equipment or work practice, or simply as a refresher for staff. Education is paramount including how to reduce sedentary behaviours.

Functional Capacity Evaluation

A well-timed Functional Capacity Evaluation is an effective tool to guide the management of a complex or significant injury. An FCE can assist in:

  • Developing return to work plans
  • Recommendations for conditioning programs
  • Determining need for job modifications
  • Defining functional and work restrictions, and
  • Identifying suitable redeployment options.

Independent Case Review

Independent Case Reviews at Axis are performed by Specialist or Titled Musculoskeletal Physiotherapists. They assist with clients who may not be recovering or responding to current treatment as expected. Using a thorough biopsychosocial approach to the assessment, recommendations are provided relating to treatment goals and safe return to work.

Vocational Assessment

Produces a comprehensive report that lists 3-5 suitable employment options, transferable skills, barriers to return to work and recommendations. This report can be used by Health Professionals for assessing the suitability of alternative employment when considering the individuals capacity.
